The McKinley High School Foundation has awarded scholarships to 48 graduating seniors from the McKinley High School (MHS) Class of 2018, totaling $77,750. Scholarships were given based on academic achievement, community service and financial need. One-hundred percent of the funds were raised by alumni and friends of MHS. Since the Foundation’s inception in 1990, nearly $1.4 million in scholarships were awarded to more than 1,000 students.

• Yun Huen Cheng and Mella Liang each received the Foundation Scholarship Honoring Eyvinne & Kay Lee.
• Vanessa Khamkhay and Aprille Tang both received the Foundation Scholarship Honoring Abraham and Shin Quon Wong Goo.
• Melanie Lau, Connie Lu, Jahanavi Priya, Weng Tong Sou and Wilson Tadena each received the Hung Wo & Elizabeth Lau Ching Foundation Scholarship.
• Ke Er Liu received the Kingo Hayashi, Mikako Hayashi and the McKinley High School Class of 1934 Scholarship.
• Nikalani Swift received the Steven & Lois Mihaylo Family Foundation Scholarship.
• Kyle Raven Moraga received the Cades Foundation Scholarship.
• Valerie Eng and Jungwoo Park each received the Carole Kai Scholarship.
• Eva Wang received the Foundation Scholarship Honoring Patsy Young.
• Carol Vo received the Jeanette (Lee) Kawamura Memorial Scholarship.
• Nhan Bui and Kevin Doan each received the Foundation Scholarship Honoring Abraham & Shin Quon Wong Goo.
• Sharon Chen received the Shiro and Jean K. Matsuo Scholarship.
• Kloe Lum received The Shigeru Okino Scholarship.
• Anh Quach received the May Lee Y. and Raymond W.L. Chung Scholarship.
• Brandy Hitchcock received the Foundation Scholarship Honoring Senator Daniel K. Inouye.
• Michelle Yim received the Foundation Scholarship Honoring Stan Seki.
• Satoko Davidson received the Foundation Scholarship Honoring Dr. Ruth Ono.
• Alyssa Payanal received the Foundation Scholarship in Memory of Lawrence Hirohata.
• Lou Rae Robles received the Island Insurance Foundation Scholarship.
• Jackie Lam received the McKinley Class of 1954 Scholarship.
• Jada Almoguera received the McKinley Centennial Class of 1965 Scholarship.
• RJ Cabico received the McKinley Class of 1966 Scholarship.
• Suzie Park received the McKinley Class of 1983 Scholarship.

• Michael Jake Sumaylo received the McKinley Class of 2013 Scholarship.
• Kiana Ogawa received the McKinley National Honor Society Scholarship.
• Darren Maluyo-Gilman and Kristine Angel Portigo each received the Foundation Scholarship.
• Joyce So received the Foundation Scholarship Honoring Richard Kosaki.
• Jayden Eastwood received The Shigeru Okino Scholarship.
• Shani Huang and Jaecob Torres each received the Foundation Scholarship.
• Lauilii Iosefa and Angel Wu received the C.A.R.S. Scholarship.
• Summer Muramoto, Kathy Phan, Katrine Ann Salmasan and Huai Yu Zheng received the McKinley Class of 1962 Scholarship.
• Tevin Cayetano and Leslie Vu received the McKinley Class of 1967 Scholarship.
The McKinley High School Foundation was established in 1989 to grant scholarships and other assistance to students and faculty, and to encourage scholarship and good citizenship among members of the McKinley High School community. The Foundation awarded the first scholarship in 1990, and has presented scholarships annually to outstanding graduating seniors from McKinley High School.
